Facebook is by far the most popular social media website with over 1,100,000,000 monthly visitors compared to the second most popular website Twitter which has 310,000,000 visitors. However, that does not mean that Facebook has no competition in the social media world. Facebook and its biggest competitor Twitter are two social media websites that focus on different outlooks to the public. Facebook focuses on connecting everyone and improving the world through sharing, whilst twitter could be referred to as the global town square. However both websites do share some similarities such as day-to-day sharing, messaging, public figures search and are available both on mobile and tablet as well as on a computer. One of Facebooks biggest competitors on the market is Google. This is because both of their man revenue source is Internet advertising. Facebooks advertising focus’s on the user’s interests on the social network site itself. This takes a huge proportion of the market off Google.. Facebooks other social networking competitors include Twitter, Snapchat, Google+, LinkedIn and many more.
